24 hours of no Technology.

On friday morning I began my 24 hours without technology. I allowed myself to use my computer for homework purposes, but aside from that I did not use my cell phone or any form of social media. I knew it was going to be difficult to not look at my phone. I turned my phone on silent and put it in my desk drawer so it was out of sight. A few times I was tempted to look at it but eventually it was like I didnt even have a phone. I noticed that I got a lot more done that day. I completed a lot of homework and studied for tests. I found it to be really nice not having my phone attached to my hip like I usually do.

  1. I agree, we waste so much time on social media and lose a lot of productivity. To react on cell phones specifically, yes, I waste a lot of time on my phone when I should be studying or cleaning. However, with the advancement of such technologies, I can communicate faster than ever before. What I am really getting at is that it is a give and take sort of situation.

  2. Great to hear that the experience was a good one for you. There are various ways of putting some limits on technology. Maybe blocking out a certain amount of time or reserving certain spaces in the house to be technology free are ways to limit the bad effects while keeping the benefits.
